“Building resilience in children is not about making them tough. Resilience is the ability to recover from difficulties and manage how you feel.”

Meet Cheryl
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, LCSW-R
Hello, my name is Cheryl Osuch and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with children as well as 15 years of clinical experience working with kids, teens, young adults and their families.
One of the reasons that I choose to primarily work with children is my admiration for their incredible resilience despite some very difficult circumstances. I’m inspired by the resilience of children and their ability to “adjust their sails” when the tough winds of life blow. Despite their strength and determination, children often need a helping hand, a friendly face and a listening ear in order to develop resiliency. I view my work with children and their parents/guardians as “teamwork” as we seek together to identify what is needed to help children express themselves and improve their resiliency skills.
Counseling
It’s a tough world out there to be a kid these days…and to be a parent! Is your child struggling with anxiety, depression, social skills, peer conflict, low self-esteem, academic or behavioral issues? Then let’s start working together to help your child discover their resilience! I look forward to meeting you and your child soon.
Play / Creative Arts Therapy
I provide a safe, therapeutic environment for your child to express their innermost thoughts, feelings and struggles as we work together to overcome their challenges. I utilize many aspects of play and creative therapies to help your child express what they’re thinking and feeling that they may not be able to express verbally. I also enjoy helping children to become equipped with SKILLS to manage their emotions, to communicate their thoughts/feelings/needs to others and resolve conflict.
